We had some very creative entries in our pumpkin contest on October 28...first prize was shared by  Angelina Ballerina and Olivia, with Pippi Longstocking coming in a close second. Zog, an adorable little dragon, placed third. Other excellent entries included Coraline, Jasmine, the witch from the Wizard of Oz, Dumbledore and more.  If you missed the first meeting of the midgrade (grades 4-6) Book Club, never fear! Boo! Halloween is just arond the corner...have you signed up for the Library Pumpkin Contest yet? It's time for your family to get creative and decorate some pumpkins to represent favorite characters from kids' books. Donovan Curtis, widely acknowledged to be the biggest troublemaker in his school, has just pulled the wildest stunt ever, and it's really run amok. This time things have gotten out of hand, and have caused colossal damage to the school doors and the new gym. Well, the Summer Reading Program is finally at an end...but what a summer we had! There are so many people and organizations  that contributed to our success, we have more people to thank than the recipients of the Academy Awards! We have recently added Playaways to our collection and thus far they have  received much praise from parents and children alike. And now that summer is ending Playaways are great for siblings who may be sitting and waiting at a dance studio, sporting event, or a meeting their adult is attending. Well, the Reporting and Craft Labs are closed for the season, but the Sumjmer Reading Program doesn't officially wrap up until August 31st. You can keep on reading and garnering points for your team right up until then.
