Kathy Stoughton, M. Ed., independent educator and consultant, shares strategies that help parents reduce their costs for college and avoid some of the most expensive mistakes.

How to Write College Essays that Shine

College essays are a different breed of writing.  You are trying to market yourself as a great candidate for admission while writing a solid, original and inviting piece of work.  It’s a daunting task!  

This workshop will feature essential guidance for brainstorming and crafting college essays. Most colleges are relying on essays as a crucial part of their admissions reviews. These essays figure prominently in these holistic reviews and have risen in importance due to test-optional policies. Summer is a great time to find out the essentials for writing a solid admissions essay!

Registration for this program will open on June 16 for Bedford cardholders. Please register for one spot per child to ensure each child receives a kit for the program.

 

Hear from local author Katie Coppens as she discusses her book The Acadia Files and then leads participants through a geology science experiment! Discover how to evaluate the hardness of minerals on the Mohs scale.

 

Kits including minerals, safety goggles, and more will be provided for participants.
