Using search and rescue incidents from his book “Critical Hours - Search and Rescue in the White Mountains”, and/or from the Accidents column he writes for Appalachia, the journal of the AMC, Sandy Stott will give people insights into the challenges and work of NH's search and rescue professionals and volunteers. In all seasons and often at night, these rescuers put down whatever they are doing, pick up their ready-packs and head into the mountains to help those of us in trouble. And there seem to more of us bumping into difficulty each year. Who are those of us encountering trouble and who are these rescuers and what are their experiences?
Sandy Stott is a writer, a teacher and a mountain enthusiast. This program will appeal to outdoor enthusiasts and armchair adventurers alike.
