Celebrate National Model Railroad Month at the Bedford Library!
The Bedford Boomer Model Railroad Club with assistance of the Bedford Public Library will celebrate Model Railroad Month with present both a "G" and "O" Scale plus MARX operating displays for your enjoyments. The operating and static displays will be open to the public Saturday, November 20th from 10:00 am to 3:00 PM and Sunday, November 21s from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
In addition to the operating displays in the McAllaster Room the Bedford Library’s Children’s Room will have publications and video publications available for kids reading-viewing pleasure. Members of the Bedford Boomers will also have both prototype and model train publications in the McAllaster Room for your information and enjoyment.
The library’s HO & N model trains, under the stair well and next to the Children’s Room will be available for all to operate.
Do you know that trains operated between Manchester and Milford with a station stop in Bedford from 1900 until 1924?
The Bedford station was located on Route 101 between the current MOBILE station and Meetinghouse Road. A special map of Bedford in the 1920s will be on display and available for discussion during the Saturday and Sunday discussions.
