Book Discussion Groups

The Library hosts two book groups that read and discuss a wide variety of fiction and nonfiction, ranging from classics to contemporary works. Join us for thought-provoking discussions of fascinating books, led by library staff member Sue Fahey.

Choose the time that works best for you!

The Monday Morning Book Group meets on the second Monday of the month at 10 a.m.

The Thursday Evening Book Group meets on the third Thursday of the month at 6:45 p.m.

Check the Library calendar for the current meeting date and selection.

The Library provides copies of the month's book to group members.  Please visit the Reference Desk to pick up a copy.

Bedford Public Library cardholders are also welcome to start their own book discussion groups! The Library can provide up to 10 copies of a title for book group members. Visit the Reference Desk to learn more about starting a group.

Resources for Book Groups

Is your book group wondering what to read next? Check out NoveList! This database provides book recommendations based on your keyword searches. Search for your favorite author or the title of the last book you enjoyed, and find suggestions for other books in minutes.

Or, take a look at New Hampshire Library Association's Reads-to-Go titles! These kits come prepackaged with up to 15 copies and there are dozens of titles to choose from. We suggest making your selection and contacting the Reference Desk well in advance; it can take a couple of weeks for the kits to arrive at the Library. A complete printable list of titles is also available from NHLA online.

Take a look at a few of our books about running a book group. We also have a list of discussion questions for book groups available at the bottom of this page to get your next meeting started.
