Beyond the Book: An Evening with Laura Knoy

Beyond the Book Bedford Public Library Fundraiser with Laura Knoy Sunday November 8 at 5:30 Tickets $35

This year for their annual fall fundraiser, the Bedford Public Library Foundation is taking you Beyond the Book! Join them for a festive autumn evening with author Laura Knoy as she presents about her recent novel The Shopkeeper of Alsace. Inspired by true events, the story focuses on Sarah who came of age in Poland during WWI. When her sixth sense for trouble grows through the 1930s as Germany gathers strength under a fighting new nationalist party, she calls upon past lessons and prepares for the worst.

Laura Knoy is an award-winning journalist. She founded New Hampshire’s most widely respected and recognized public radio program, “The Exchange,” which she hosted for 25 years. Laura has also worked at the national level; newscasting, hosting and reporting for NPR. Today, she’s an in-demand narrator, podcaster and public speaker. In her free time, Laura can be found reading or somewhere in NH’s great outdoors.

The evening starts at 5:30 on Sunday, November 8, with autumn-themed beverages, snacks and music before Ms. Knoy’s remarks. Tickets for the Beyond the Book event are $35 to support the Bedford Library Foundation and may be purchased at the Bedford Public Library or online.
