Grand Finale!

The Summer Reading Program is almost over, and we will wrap it all up with a family event on Friday, August 11 at 1:30pm. First, we will all gather at the Gazebo for some toe-tapping, dance-inducing music.

Cake Walk APB...

Calling all bakers (and shoppers)! Our annual Fun Faire is coming up on Thursday, August 3rd, and we are in need of goodies for the Carpenter's Cake Walk! This is an old-fashinoned game, similar to musical chairs...The kids walk around the circle, and when the music stops, the child standing on the lucky square wins a prize...they get to select a cake or a small batch of cookies or cupcakes to take home.

Magic by George

Are you ready for some summer magic? Be sure to join us on Wednesday, July 12 at 1:00pm when we present "Magic by George". George Saterial is an accomplished magician who has performed in many places, as well as on network television. He has some surprises up his sleeve that will amaze even the adults in the crowd. Space is limited, so please go to our website and register your children early: www.bedfordnhlibrary.org.

Wildlife Encounters

Would you like to see some live wild animals, and maybe even touch them? Wild Life Encounters will be with us on Thursday, July 6 with some of their most exotic rescue animals from this country and other parts of the world. Wildlife presentations are so popular, we will be offering two showings, so no one will be left out. The morning show starts at 11:00am...afternoon at 1:00pm. When you sign up on our website, be sure to note whether you are signing up for morning or afternoon.

Summer Reading Registration

Hey, Kids! The time has come to sign up for our fabulous Summer Reading Program! This year we're under construction to "BUILD A BETTER WORLD". Come on into the library to get on a team and join the Reading Club...there will be incentive prizes, gift coupons, crafts, and special performances on the agenda for the whole summer! All Bedford youngsters aged 3-12 are welcome to register anytime from now until the end of the program in August. Please do bring your library card with you to make it easier all around.

Junior Librarians

If you will be entering 5th grade or above next fall, you might like to consider becoming a Junior Librarian...or perhaps you've been waiting for your chance to do this for years! Every summer, the library trains a group of young Bedford students to become involved in the workings of the Summer Reading Program.
Question: What do Junior Librarians do? Answer: Mainly two things...
#1. Check children's reading club charts and give them incentive prizes. #2. Assist kids in making the craft project of the week.

Summer Reading Kick-Off

There's no one more popular than Toe Jam Puppet Band to open up our Summer Reading Program this year! Tom and Vinny will be bringing their silly songs and ridiculous antics to Bedford's Town Hall on Friday, June 23 at 1:30pm. Fun for all ages, including the young and the young at heart! Space is somewhat limited, so kids will need to be signed up on-line if they would like to come...registration begins on June 5th: www.bedfordnhlibrary.org.
