Kids Go Postal

In keeping with our summer reading theme, "Build a Better World", we gave our young Bedford patrons an opportunity to thank some of the awesome departments and organizations in town that make this a better place to live. For the entire summer, colorful postcards were made available to the children, so that they could write their messages and place them in our own special "Mailbox". The results were very sweet, and in some cases, amusing.

A Word to Our Sponsors...

This year's Summer Reading Program was tremendous success! We truly could not have produced a program of such magnitude without the support of local businesses and organizations, and we would like to offer them all our sincere thanks...

Best Birdhouses!

Who built a better Birdhouse? We had 17 very fine entries in our family contest this year, and it was a tough call to decide which ones would come out on top of the tree in the judging. Each and every house entered showed wonderful craftsmanship and imagination! It was a joy for everyone to be able to view them on display in the Children’s Library.

Grand Finale!

The Summer Reading Program is almost over, and we will wrap it all up with a family event on Friday, August 11 at 1:30pm. First, we will all gather at the Gazebo for some toe-tapping, dance-inducing music.

Cake Walk APB...

Calling all bakers (and shoppers)! Our annual Fun Faire is coming up on Thursday, August 3rd, and we are in need of goodies for the Carpenter's Cake Walk! This is an old-fashinoned game, similar to musical chairs...The kids walk around the circle, and when the music stops, the child standing on the lucky square wins a prize...they get to select a cake or a small batch of cookies or cupcakes to take home.
