And the winner is... EL DEAFO, by Cece Bell. New Hampshire students in grades 4-6 have spoken: they chose this graphic novel out of a field of 20 superb books for this age group, with 786 votes. The second place winner was FISH IN A TREE, by Lynda Mullay Hunt, with 635 votes. Both of these titles center on young people facing disabilities...their popularity speaks well for the compassionate nature of our youth.
