Whoooo! Halloween is right around the corner, and it's time to get creative! Our annual Literary Pumpkin Contest is coming right up! Think about a favorite children's character from a BOO-k or movie...then translate that into a design for your pumpkin(s). Adult assistance is not only allowed, but very much encouraged...this is a family affair! When you're finished, bring your entries to the Children's Library to be put on display.
We will begin accepting your pumpkins on October 17, provided they are artificial. If you are still holding out for real ones, we will take freshly decorated creations beginning October 26. (Can you guess why the wait?) We ask that you bring in a photo of your creation, along with contact information, so that we can get in touch with you, if need be. Judging will take place on October 31st, and winners will be notified shortly thereafter. You may enter as many pumpkins as you'd like. Hint: There are loads of ideas on-line, if you should get stuck.
