Fall Events

Happy fall! My name is Miss Grace and I’m delighted to be a part of this lovely community as the new Head of Children’s Services here at the Bedford Library. I have been working in public libraries, specifically in Children’s Departments, for about seven years and am very happy to be here in Bedford. My favorite book I have read recently is The Heart and Mind of Frances Pauley by April Stevens, which is on the Great Stone Face Nominees list for this year. If you would like to introduce yourself, chat about books, movies, story times, early literacy or anything else, please feel free to stop in and say hello anytime – I look forward to meeting you!

Fall Storytimes will begin soon! Register online for Mother Goose or Toddler 2s starting on September 17th. More information is below for you to decide what storytime is best for you and your child(ren).

Our Book Buzz group is a terrific opportunity for young readers to gather and share their thoughts about their favorite (and not-so-favorite) books! The club meets monthly at the library and the October group is scheduled for October 1st at 5pm. There is always a related craft or activity to enjoy…and, of course, munchies! All kids aged 9-12 welcome!

Lilly the therapy dog is back for a new year of listening to kids read! She is so excited! This year, she will visit with us once a month and our next upcoming visit with Lilly will be October 4th at 4pm!

Each child gets 15 minutes of private time with Lilly to practice his or her reading skills. This is a great confidence booster for reading aloud in class! You may register for a time slot by calling 472-2300 or drop by to make a reservation for a reading session . There is no on-line registration for this program.
