Every year, young readers across the state cast their votes for their favorite book from a selection of librarian-picked titles for the New Hampshire Ladybug Award. The voters are readers up to third grade and the books are some of the best recently published picture books, The 2021 list was especially excellent. Titles included the Caldecott award winner Water Protectors, the sweet father daughter story Hair Love, the contemplative If You Come to Earth, and more. But the winner this year with 4,336 votes is the charming and funny Snail Crossing by Corey Tabor.
