Our next Book Buzz group will be at 5pm on Monday, February 4th! This is a terrific opportunity for young readers to gather and share their thoughts about their favorite (and not-so-favorite) books! Come to the library today to pick up your copy of the book we'll be reading for February's meeting, The Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O'Dell!
It's that time again to sign up to read to our paws-itively favorite friend, Lilly! Lilly will be able to listen to readers on Thursday, February 7th from 4pm-5:30pm, so sign up today for your 15 minute time slot.
Sign up today for our 6-week long session of yoga for kids! Yoga for kids aged 4-7 is available and also for ages 8-12. No need to bring a mat, but registration is required as space is limited. A Bedford Library card is required for registration. Parents must remain in the downstairs area of the library should their child need them during this 45 minute class.
Register and join us for our new program Kindergarten Club! Only for those aged 4-6, this group will enjoy stories, songs, activities, and crafts each week! Sign up your child today.
Our carpeting project is finished and the Children's Room is open again. Pop in any time to see the new layout and new carpet, play with our STEM-themed toys for children of all ages at the tables in the center of the room and play with the toys at the back of the room by the windows!
The carpeting on the lower level of the library will be replaced between December 3rd and December 21st. The downstairs of the library including the Children's Room will close on Monday the 3rd of December and re-open on Saturday the 22nd of December.
Selected children's materials will be available on the upper level of the library. The lower level, including the McAllaster Room and the Richmond Room, will be unavailable between the 6th and the 21st.

Now that we are in the middle of fall, we have lots going on at the library and we welcome you to try out something new with us!
Happy fall! My name is Miss Grace and I’m delighted to be a part of this lovely community as the new Head of Children’s Services here at the Bedford Library. I have been working in public libraries, specifically in Children’s Departments, for about seven years and am very happy to be here in Bedford. My favorite book I have read recently is The Heart and Mind of Frances Pauley by April Stevens, which is on the Great Stone Face Nominees list for this year.
We are winding down after a fantastic Summer Reading Program. You can still read and come in for one final reporting for your team, and chose a book, until August 31. As of August 11th, the total books read by all teams was 17,876!
The STRUMMERS have read 6,537. The DRUMMERS have read 5,727 and the Rockin Robins have read 5,612 books! CONGRATULATIONS to all.
