Lee Ann's Picks from StorylineOnline

While we've been working from home, Miss Lee Ann has taken the opportunity to find the best of the best stories available on Storyline Online!

If you haven't yet discovered Storyline Online, it's an entirely free website (and has a free app) that houses a collection of classic and contemporary picture books read by members of the Screen Actors Guild. The books are also animated, so each book is an excellent audio and visual experience.

Without further ado, here are Miss Lee Ann's recommended reads:

 

1. If you like stories about kids who don’t seem to realize how big or how loud or how excited they are, then you will love Clark the Shark written by Bruce Hale, illustrated by Guy Francis and narrated by Chris Pine. (Target age: K-2nd graders.)

 

2.If you like crazy stories with plenty of frosting and sprinkles and a happy ending, then you will love Arnie the Doughnut written and illustrated by Laurie Keller and narrated by Chris O'Dowd. (Target age: 1st and 2nd graders.)

 

3. If you like stories about someone who gets everything he wants just handed to him and what happens when it all stops...then you will love Please Please the Bees written and illustrated by Gerald Kelley and narrated by Rashida Jones. (Target age: 1st thru 3rd graders.)

 

4. If you're the kid that brings that one lunch to school that is more than just a little bit different from everyone else's then you will love Carla's Sandwich written by Debbie Herman, illustrated by Sheila Bailey and narrated by Allison Janney. (Target age: 2nd and 3rd grade.)

 

5. If you have a particular kind of scary monster living under your own bed, then you will love I Need My Monster written by Amanda Noll, illustrated by Howard McWilliam and narrated by Rita Moreno. (Target age: K-1st graders.)
