This year’s winner of the Ladybug Picture Book Award is There are No Bears in This Bakery by Julia Sarcone-Roach!
Each year, New Hampshire students in preschool through third grade vote on their favorite picture book from a list of 10 titles curated by NH librarians.
This year saw a wonderful slate of diverse titles including Native voices, historical stories, turtles, family stories,and even bashful dinosaurs. All have been published within the last three years and have authors and illustrators who live in the US. The new nominees for 2021 will be announced in late March. There are several months to read all the nominees before voting starts in November.
